A Drapey Poncho

SAM_5716I’ve been swooning over this blush, drapey poncho since I picked it up at the LOFT, during my mom’s visit last month. What do you think? Isn’t it so cute?! The striped neutrals give it a clean, fresh look–perfect for a summer night out. But, I can already envision wearing this with booties and a chunky scarf on a cool, fall evening. As much as I’m enjoying summer, I have to say, I’m equally excited for fall–there is something comforting and a little nostalgic about this time of year that I love!

Many kids went back to school this week, marking the start of a new year. Although I no longer track my years with the school season, it’s fun to reminisce and think back to all those schooldays back in Florida.

Growing-up in Florida our summers, and even some of our winters, were hot, full of humidity and muggy weather. Except when I moved to Tallahassee to attend college at Florida State University. I can still remember my first year being unprepared for what college life would offer–including the cold weather! Tallahassee borders the Georgia state line and can experience some cold winters. In any case, those turned out to be some of my favorite years–and where my love for fall transpired. Cool weather and country music are still two of my comforts today.

Perhaps you’re preparing your kids for the new year, or heading back to school yourself–hopefully this time of year marks the start of an exciting beginning, full of anticipation for what’s in store ahead!

What are you most looking forward to this coming “school year?”
