A Hilly City Stroll

Last weekend, Chris and I went to my company Holiday party at the Fairmont hotel. It was a grand night! Everybody was dressed-up and ready to celebrate in style. I was so excited for an excuse to wear a fancy dress, and spend a night in the city. Early the next morning we strolled about town through Nob Hill and Russian Hill–two neighborhoods that hold true to its name. It was hilly!

At every corner we took there was a picturesque scenic sight of the city. This picture was taken at the top of Nob Hill looking down California Avenue with a birds eye view of the Bay Bridge. After all our walking and hill climbing I needed a break! We certainly got our exercise in for the day. Believe it or not we still haven’t taken a cable car ride. I was so excited when it scooted by I had to capture the moment. One of these days I’ll hop on for that tourist experience, and explore the city with fresh perspective. The weather has been quite nice these days; not too cold, or not too warm. I paired this suede skirt with a chunky sweater and a pair of knee hight boots. Typically I would wear tights, but given it wasn’t that cold I opted for this Micahel kors leopard print scarf for a pop of color. From Russian Hill you can see a perfect view of Coit tower. Last year when my dad and sister were in town we climbed all 400 stairs to reach the top. If you’re ever in the area it’s definitely a must!
Isn’t she pretty? During the holidays The Fairmont has a real, human sized Ginger bread house. It’s a fun place to visit for a warm cup of tea and for festive pictures by the tree. Lots of kiddos are running around, and the hotel lobby is bustling with visitors from near and far. I love getting to explore all the nooks and crannies of this city. It’s such a unique place with lots of hidden gems. One must just remember to wear a pair of comfy shoes to survive the uphill climb.
