Lilyana’s Newborn Photos & Nursery

Tomorrow marks our sweet Lily’s 3-month birthday. While in many ways it feels like she’s been a part of our lives for quite some time, in other ways it feels like time has flown by so fast. Since taking these photos, she has already changed so much—although her facial expressions are still the same (which makes me laugh). Becoming a Mom has challenged me in new ways and stretched me to new limits. It has required giving up much of myself—including sleep (oh, how I miss you), hobbies (the blog is on the back-burner for awhile), and my body (hoping to get back in shape soon!)—but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

I go back to work in January; until then I’m savoring every moment at home with our daughter. Our days start early, and include a whole lot of time in the nursery—expect for on Tuesdays when we go to music class. Taking Lily to music class is honestly one of the highlights of my week. Along with a few other Moms, we sing and dance to songs like, ‘The Itsy Bitsy Spider,’ and ‘Hey Diddle Diddle.’ Who would have thought these would be the new songs we sing and hum to in the car?! Even Chris can’t get these tunes out of his head.

The nursery is my favorite room in the house. During my last trimester I spent some time designing a mood board of decor inspiration with ideas from Pinterest and other lifestyle bloggers. (One of my favorite lifestyle bloggers, who is also a Mom, is Mara at M Loves M. If you don’t already follow her, you should definitely check her out!) The nursery colors are mainly neutral with touches of soft pink. After getting a few tips from my dear friend Katie, also a lifestyle blogger at Palm Beach Farm, who just designed her new home and boys’ bedrooms, we decided to paint the room a light grey; this color helps create a serene environment, perfect for a baby’s room. Given the space is quite large, we were able to keep our spare bed—which is useful for when we have guests in town (or when we need a place to snooze while the baby naps).
