Vacation Vibes

Although we don’t have true vacation plans on the horizon, I can’t help but feel like I should pack for a getaway with this gauzy cotton dress—the embroidered blue details, and subtle front tassels make for a slight gypsy, bohemian flair—calling for a seaside destination. Club Monaco’s Summer Style Event is currently offering up to 30% off, where you can snatch a unique array of breezy items, like this dress, in hues of light blue. Below I link to a few items I’m loving for the Summer season, or you can shop curated items at the Club Monaco beach shop here with discount code “summer.” With the baby on the way, truth be told, I haven’t had much time to think about summer vacation plans nor do much blogging (these photos were taken Easter weekend, so, as you can imagine, the bump is much bigger these days!).

Chez Kelly – New York City

Today I’m excited to introduce you to my friend Kelly, a contributor in my Chez series. If you missed my last Chez post, you can read more about the series here. After college (where I  met Kelly!), she moved to New York City to pursue her career in fashion PR; but over the last couple years, it’s been neat to see her foster her true passion and dream: working with animals. Despite being in the city that never sleeps, Kelly manages to live a quiet and stress-free life in her darling studio apartment in the West Village. I love her artwork and decor as it’s the perfect extension of Kelly’s personality, representing her travels to Africa, love of animals, her many, many good books—and of course, her two fur babies! Scroll below to read my full interview with Kelly, where she shares her infectious philanthropic passions and favorite go-to places in New York City.

Floral Dress

Is it just me, or does it feel like Spring came and went in a flash? The cherry blossoms beautifully bloomed for a few weeks, but unfortunately didn’t last much longer. Thankfully we can continue to live-out the Spring season in floral prints and flowy silhouettes, with pieces like this ASTR dress (under $100!). A floral print exudes a feminine flair I can’t resist and one I think I’ll be wearing frequently this season. Below I link to a variety of spring dresses, including a few maternity ones I’m eyeing.

Easter Sunday Brunch

April is here! Can you believe how fast the year is flying? Thursday I’m 25 weeks pregnant, which makes me realize I’m getting closer and closer to my due date. Eek! I need to start planning for the baby’s arrival (I’m feeling a little behind schedule). But for today I’m thinking about Easter Sunday, and our menu plans (of course the preggo girl is thinking about food).

Whether you decide to bake or takeout this Easter Sunday, I’ve outlined a simple brunch menu for your holiday celebration. Typically, when planning a menu for guests, my eyes are bigger than my stomach. It’s easy to go overboard with food preparation only to leave behind a fridge stocked full of leftovers. This year I’m opting for a simple, yet tasty brunch menu which I outline below.

Napa Weekend Itinerary

Visiting a new area can sometimes be overwhelming, especially if you’re limited on time. Finding the right balance between exploration and relaxation is tricky—how you maximize each day to squeeze-in all the quintessential must-see places is key when traveling. If you’ve never been to Napa Valley, or perhaps considering a return trip, I’ve rounded up some of our favorite recommendations—from wineries, hotels, cafes/bakeries, and restaurants. Each stop is conveniently located en route from San Francisco to Calistoga (peek season traffic can get heavy so strategically planning your stops is always helpful). At the very end of this post you’ll find a condensed 48-hour itinerary for quick reference; I hope this is enjoyable and please let me know if you do end up visiting the area!
