I recently discovered Space NK Apothecary and have been hooked ever since. The boutique originated in London and has amassed a global presence with 22 stores in the U.S. If you’ve never heard of the store, think Sephora–but better! Space NK is much less crowded than a typical Sephora, and offers a highly edited selection of the finest products in skin, hair and makeup. What I like best is you’re able to speak with a beauty consultant and receive a highly personalized experience without the hassle of long lines. So, today I’m talking about a few of my favorite brands you can find at Space NK, specifically Tata Harper and Oribe. Both are absolutely amazing and I know you’ll be hooked in no time!
Oribe Haircare
Haven’t you always wondered how models get that effortless bounce to their curls? If only I could wave my magic wand and–poof–there you have it: All-day lasting curls that stay in place. Well, the secret is out and I have finally discovered the magic spray. Oribe texturizing spray gives you the model-off-duty hair we’ve all dreamed about! It’s no hyperbole, friends, it seriously works. Every morning after I curl my hair, I spray Oribe as part of my getting-ready-for-work routine. The first day I did my hair with Oribe I got all sorts of compliments. You’ll have to try it and let me know what you think. And if you’re not fully convinced, try the travel size which is a bit cheaper than the full bottle. I’m also really liking their shampoo and conditioner.
Tata Harper Skincare
I’ve been a longtime fan of the organic brand Tata Harper (as seen in posts here and here). So you can imagine my delight when I discovered it sitting on the pretty shelves of Space NK. The funny thing is, after all this time, I learned a few new tricks on how to best maximize the cleansers. Little did I know, I had it all wrong! Unlike most cleansers, Tata Harpers are all applied onto dry skin; and they are meant to be used as a trio. After some debate on, “do I really need three cleansers?” I realized it was worth the extra two steps. If you’re prone to breakouts like me, you’ll appreciate the deep cleaning offered through Tata Harper’s three step cleansing routine. After a long day of wearing makeup, the best treatment your skin craves is a proper cleansing. So here’s how it works:
- Nourishing Oil Cleanser – is a makeup remover and softening wash. It thoroughly cleanses all the grim from the day while providing those much needed nutrients.
- Regenerating Cleanser – is a gentle exfoliating cleanser which helps reduce the appearance of pores while purifying the skin. For a deeper exfoliating treatment, you can massage a generous layer to dry skin and add a layer of the resurfacing mask for about 10 – 15 minutes.
- Purifying Cleanser – this cleanser combats the daily wear and tear caused by pollution and toxins in the air by purging surface impurities. This is one of my favorites as it leaves your skin feeling cool and refreshed, with a beautiful lingering floral scent
Lastly, before adding your moisturizer, spray a few squirts of the ultra-light and refreshing Floral Essence Toner. This helps balance your skin’s alkaline level after washing, and helps draw moisture deep into your skin for radiance and tone. With these products at home, you can essentially give yourself a daily facial and save on those indulging spa treatments.
