Summer Season

SAM_3792Are you ready for summer? I have a feeling I’ll be living in maxi dresses. They are effortlessly cute, and fitting for almost any occasion. With a couple of vacations on the horizon, I’m taking mental stock of my outfits and planning what I’ll wear. This dress is definitely making the cut; and let’s be honest, half the fun in travel is planning what to wear! This cuban mosaic-inspired print shouts warm weather, making it the perfect silhouette for a tropical getaway.

If you haven’t already heard, Nordstrom’s half-yearly sale is happening now through June 5! You won’t want to miss all the amazing bargains. Now’s the time to stock-up on all those looks you’ve been eyeing. Below, I’ve linked a few of my favorite maxi dresses for summer!

On a totally separate note, I’ve been thinking a lot about friendships lately. The last few months, several of my friends have moved away from the San Francisco Bay Area. The thing about this amazing place is that it’s expensive, very fast-paced and, typically, many only come for a season; they come to build a resume, get a job, and live the silicon valley experience. So, it should come to no surprise when friends bid adieu. Right? But it’s never easy to say goodbye.

Because of this, and having moved myself several times before, deep-rooted friendships are hard to come by. Tightly knit, know you in-and-out kind of friendships take time, and mutual commitment–something our busy lifestyles don’t always afford.

Do you have the friendships your heart craves? With the slower summer months upon us, perhaps this is a good season to invest in old friends, or take risks to make new ones. Good friends are fuel for the soul and fill spaces spouses can’t reach (like convening over important matters such as maxi dresses and must-have summer attire!). For more thoughts on biblical friendship, I encourage you to replay our pastor’s sermon here. It’s a good one, I promise.
