We Are Pregnant!

We are so excited to share that we are expecting a wee little baby in July!! The last four months have flown by, and it’s crazy to think I’m nearly halfway through my pregnancy (I’m 19 weeks and counting). As new expecting parents there is still so much left to learn of what feels like a foreign ‘baby world.’ But now that I’m in my second trimester, I’m feeling much better with tremendous energy to read, absorb and learn all there is to know. (First trimester sickness is real, y’all! And a big reason why I was rather quiet on the blog for a few months). Between my sister who has three kiddos, and several mama friends, I know I’ll have lots of great resources for help.

Our road to pregnancy was long and windy, so we feel extra grateful and blessed to be with child—a strong reminder that dreams do come true in God’s perfect timing. For those of you who might be waiting on the dream of becoming a mama, know that you’re not alone. Just this week I read this encouraging blog post on the Proverbs 31 website, and I thought I’d share it here as well; hopefully you’ll find hope and encouragement knowing God has the power to work big miracles out of slim chances.

One of the books I’m currently reading is On Becoming Baby Wise, and I hear that Bringing up Bebe is also really good. Let me know if you have any other book recommendations for a new, expecting mom. I’d love to hear how you all prepared for your little one!

Although I already know the gender of the baby, I’d like to post a few photos from our Gender Reveal before sharing it on the blog—so stay tuned for a follow-on post. These days expecting moms can opt for a blood test that tells you the gender by week 10. Despite how much I fear needles, I immediately said “Yes!”. For me, this felt like a way I could bond with the baby. However, I know many parents who waited to know the sex until birth—which is equally exciting. It’s all a matter of preference, and how much willpower you have to wait!

In case you’re curious to shop this look, I’ve linked to a few similar dresses below; my dress is Wayf from last season and it was under $100! What’s great about this line is that they offer affordable, on-trend pieces, shoppable at Nordstrom, Shopbop or Revolve. With Spring looming in the shadows, I can’t wait to start wearing more flowly silhouettes, and off-the-shoulder pieces.

Have a great weekend! The sun is finally shining in California, so we’re all doing the happy dance over here. xo
