Although a short drive from home, Carmel feels like a refreshing and distant getaway. On our drive down to this quaint town it rained the whole way, which, at first, was a bit of a disappointment. I was hoping for a sunny, poolside kind-of day. But once we arrived, the hotel greeted us with a glass of white wine and a cozy fireplace–which seemed to redeem the cloudy weather and make it all better. The forecast predicted rain all day, but by dusk it cleared-up and we knew we were in for a special treat.

Snow Leopard & Stripes in St. Helena
We absolutely adore the quaint town of St. Helena! If you’ve been following along on my blog, you’ll know Chris and I got married in St. Helena at the dreamy Meadowood. Sunday was our one year wedding anniversary so we booked a long weekend in Wine Country to celebrate and relive our wedding memories.
Something In The Water
As I was uploading these pictures from our trip to Yosemite I couldn’t help but think of that Carrie Underwood song–Something In The Water. If you’re not familiar with the lyrics, you must take a listen. It has a powerful message of grace and redemption–two themes I hold dear to my heart. The holidays always seem to bring similar themes to the forefront making it, for most, the happiest time of the year. Unfortunately tragedy can hit, and it certainly has in Paris with the recent terrorist attacks; but one thing remains true and steady during uncertain times and that’s God’s unconditional love. No matter where we are this holiday season we can trust in something bigger than ourselves.
Over-the-knee boots
On our final morning, before leaving Mendocino, we took one last peek at the beautiful coast. The sun finally decided to appear, making it even harder to leave this quaint town. We planned a few stops for the car ride home to celebrate my birthday; and I kicked-off the fun with these new boots.
Top Bun Kind-of-day
This is my second blog post from our trip to the coastal town of Mendocino. We took so many great scenic shots of the pacific ocean, I can’t help but want to share them with my friends and family. Our first morning was cloudy, with light showers–and given the drought we’re in, we couldn’t complain. I love foggy days, and it makes for great pictures.
Here, I’m on the edge of a cliff with Chris yelling in the background, “babe, be careful!” He’s not a fan of heights. 🙂
