Even though Labor Day is past us, can we all agree it’s still acceptable to wear white? I have to admit, I wear white throughout the year. Take this vest for example–it was a purchase from last winter and one I’ve repurposed through spring, summer and now fall! Even frugal Chris would agree that is a classic piece worth the investment. As we enter September, and near the first official day of autumn–countdown to September 22 begins–layering with a vest can take you into cooler weather looking effortlessly, cozy chic.
By layering with a vest, this third article of clothing completes the look making a comprehensive outfit. I shared my theory on the ‘Magic of Three‘ on the blog before, but I truly think it works wonders! Imagine this outfit without the white vest–it would look alright, but not superb! Something would still be missing. Plus the vest gives it more of a fall-ready look, further complementing the booties. Can we all take a pause, and celebrate bootie season? It’s one of fall’s most coveted looks, right up there next to chokers and velvet.
This past weekend we felt our first glimpse of fall weather, and just in time to kick-off college football season. My alma mater Florida State University played on Monday evening so we were nestled on the sofa watching the game–and they won! In any case, we had a lazy weekend at home, and for the first in awhile I did some serious cooking in the kitchen; I felt so proud given that it’s usually not my forte. But the autumn breeze brought forth chicken noodle soup cravings, and a few other fun recipes I’ll be sharing on the blog soon.
Hope you’re having a great week, and let me know how you’re transitioning into fall with some of your favorite go-to pieces. xo
