Chez Taylor

008

Today on the blog, I’m taking you inside the home of my dear friend Taylor, author of Simply Silicon Valley—a website dedicated to imparting ideas for how to live the good life on less. As you may recall from an earlier post, I’ve been dreaming up a new series for Story Hill Lane where I feature inspiring women in their home. As I wrestled with what to call this new series, it was Taylor herself who helped me settle on the name Chez. Chez is the French word meaning “at or in the home of” pronounced “shay.” This title felt so fitting—and chic—for the series’ vision. With that, I’m excited to share the first feature Chez Taylor, where I chat with Taylor about her home style, way of life, and her website Simply SV.

This time of year lends an opportunity to express care and happy thoughts towards our cherished friends. Small but sweet gifts are one of the many ways to send love. Have you ever read the book The 5 Love Languages? I think one of the ways I express love is through gifts. Gifts don’t have to be elaborate either–they can be homemade. It’s all about personalization.

Quinoa Salad

IMG_5070With football season upon us, I’ve been thinking about fun snacks, appetizers and crowd pleasers to make when hosting friends at the house. I recently tried this quinoa salad that is oh-so scrumptious and chock-full of nutrition. While pigs-in-a-blanket and wings are food staples for football watching, this quinoa salad serves as a healthy option to offset some of the other must-have indulgences. The result is a guilt-free and balanced football-watching menu your guests will enjoy!
