While we were in Wine Country this past weekend, we drove down Westside Road which is unexpectedly quiet, with virtually no car in sight. It was a new area of exploration for us and we were astonished by the number of wineries. So often we visit St. Helena and Calistoga which has become increasingly more busy–especially during the summer months–that we enjoyed the slower pace.

After a stroll through picturesque Healdsburg we made our way down the 12-mile span of Westside road, where we discovered HKG estates. There was nobody on the front lawn, so we snatched up the small patch of shaded grass, built our picnic area and sipped on some delicious HKG wine.

I’m growing to truly enjoy the simple pleasures in life, and intentionally finding ways to rest and energize during my weekend. How do you find rest? Or, better asked, what energizes you?
