There’s something magical in the air during the month of December. Perhaps it’s the twinkling lights, the smell of pine, hot cocoa nights, or those pretty packages under the tree; whatever it is, I can’t seem to get enough. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, I just wish we could freeze time and soak in all the jolly cheer.
Gift giving is one of my joys. I love trying to find a little something special for a dear friend or family member; and the wrapping is just as important as the gift. The paper delicately wrapped reflects the thoughtfulness injected in the gift–after all, it’s the thought that counts. Some of my most treasured presents were those that were unexpected, and simple. Here are some pretty dressing ideas for your Christmas gifts this year!
Start by setting the stage. Play some Christmas music and make yourself a cup of hot chocolate. Gather all your supplies and get comfy. I like to layout all my wrapping paper and ribbon to create the perfect working station; this makes folding the paper so much easier, especially for those larger, clunky boxes! I sorta have an obsession with ribbon….so much that I recently got this ladder organizer. Jo Ann Fabrics carries a wide range of ribbons, and quite often full spools will go on sale. I found a blush pom pom ribbon (photographed below) that I’m loving. Selecting a variety of ribbons from traditional holiday colors to atypical fabrics and hues is a fun way to spruce up your presents and create an interesting package. It’s all in the details.
