What I’m Most Thankful For This Holiday Season

img_6101This time of year I love watching the trees transform, and the leaves change colors. There is something so symbolic about the fall season, which is why–I think–we all can’t get enough of this time of year. The cooler, slower months not only allow for hibernation but provide room for us to reflect and recharge our batteries as we prepare to enter into a new year. And with Thanksgiving on Thursday I wanted to share a few things I’m thankful for this year, including some of my favorite cozy knit sweaters to lounge around in this holiday season.

As I reflect on the past year, I’m so thankful for my husband Chris. We are approaching two years of marriage, and although the time has flown by, sometimes I can’t remember life without him. He’s truly my best friend, and being around him is where I feel most myself and most centered. Having moved to California knowing not a sole, outside of Chris, we relied a lot on each other, which in many ways helped us build a strong foundation for marriage.

I’m also super thankful for the cooler weather. If you’ve read along in prior posts, you know I love snow and bundling up in winter layers. There is something magical in the brisk air that makes me come alive. During the cooler months it’s also fun to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and indulgent treats that you can only justify during the holiday season. I recently discovered the cutest French cafe near my neighborhood and I couldn’t resist a decadent piece of cake.

Lastly, the other thing that comes to mind is health. I think this is something that can be easily taken for granted when we feel fine and dandy. But I know, as I get older, health is a precious and invaluable quality I don’t want to ignore and it’s something I’m thankful for this year.

To celebrate the holiday season, and the cooler weather, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite cozy knit sweaters that may peek your fancy. I picked up this Vince cardigan at the Friends and Family sale; it’s a great neutral and staple piece for any winter wardrobe, and one I’ll be wearing all season long. It can easily be worn with booties and jeans for a casual day out-and-about, or at home with comfy socks and pajama pants. I think I’ll be wearing the latter on Thanksgiving morning watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as I prepare to make Pumpkin Pie (Yum!).

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday? Hope you have a fantastic week celebrating with friends and family. xo
